Do, Re, Mi,  Music  &  Me

Aims of Our Do Re Mi Programme

Our goal with our Do Re Mi Music & Me program is to create a positive musical experience for all our students.

Whether your child decides to follow a musical road or chooses a different path, our goal is to create a positive  memorable musical childhood experience. We achieve this by creating a joyful environment that can involves parents and child.

In addition to developing their musical skills while attending our Do Re Mi Music & Me  Programme, children will also grow socially as they interact with other children of a similar age ,  through singing, dancing, performance and playing musical games. They are exposed to different sounds, rhythms, pitch, musical terms, and music language through story telling, developing and further enhancing their musical awareness and aural listening skills, whilst encouraging self confidence and interaction with their peers.

Why is my child being taught Solfège Do Re Mi instead of the Alphabet A,B C ?

The answer  - your child will learn both methods in a matter of months.

The moveable Solfege method of teaching works very well for younger children, as the Do,Re,Mi note names are easier to sing and can move through different keys.

As your child progresses through our programme of music theory they will learn both note names in time.  "Do, Re, Mi and A,B,C "  The Moveable Solfege teaching approach is proven to be extremely effective with even the youngest of children.

While taking part in our Do, Re, Mi Music & Me Programme your child's progress is continually assessed, with term reports going home so you can keep track of things too!

What Happens after completing the Group Class

After attending Do Re Mi Music & Me Classes for a certain period of time, your child will be well prepared for private/ individual lessons .  They will have a basic knowledge of music theory  and notation .  The transition to a one on one style of lesson will be smooth.

Your child will have a better idea of what instrument they might like to choose, having  explored many different sounds .

If your child is not ready or interested in private/ individual lessons, he / she can always stay in a group setting and choose a different instrument in a new group environment.

Our aim is to keep your child interested in music, so we can adapt our programmes to suit their needs.
