Ashford Academy of Music is run by Orlaith Maguire Hons Dip Mont Ed., Director AAOMP. 

Orlaith has over 25 years experience in teaching both in Ireland and Australia. Orlaith started piano at the early age of 5 years old  at "The College of Music", Dublin , as it was then known under Ms. Kathleen O Byrne.  She studied muscianship there with Ms Nancy Calthorpe and completed her LTCL studies with Mr David Mooney. Orlaith also studied the Organ under Mr Peter Sweeney at Dublin's College of Music. She has studied at The College of Music Dublin, Trinity College London, The Portobello Institute Dublin and the Conservatory of Music Dublin. Orlaith is also a qualified Yamaha Keyboard Instructor.

Orlaith is a certified teacher in teaching children with "Specific Learning Difficulties" through the Dyslexia Association of Ireland, she is also certified through Wicklow County Childcare in "Promoting Positive Behaviour" and "Integrating children with Special Needs".  Orlaith is also qualified in CFR and "Occupational First Aid".

As a qualified Montessori teacher, Orlaith believes that early involvement in Music is essential for your child's all round development.  Orlaith brings all her years of experience combined with her enthusiasm to the classroom at Ashford Academy of Music.
