Welcome to the home of our Summer Camp 2011. At Ashford Academy of Music we take the students on a learning adventure in the worlds of music and movement. The Students are exposed to music through songs, games and group activities, encouraging self expression, creativity and social development.
Each week of summer camp is themed!
Peter & the Wolf: This theme includes acting out this well loved story of Grandfather and his animal friends, while recognizing music themes for each character. We also learn about the orchestra and the instruments represented in the music. This hands on experience gives the students an insight into what instrument they might like to play in the future , from piano, flute, violin, oboe, french horn..Their skills in singing , movement, listening and creating will develop over this camp! On the last day of camp we party and celebrate with an amazing BOUNCY CASTLE treat! Camp commences Wk 4th July 4 yrs - 7 yrs
Junior Musical Theatre Camp: This theme is great fun. All the students will venture into the exciting world of Musical Theatre and beyond, acting and dancing to their favourite songs. They will experience and learn about the instruments and different sounds of the orchestra, giving them a hands on experience. Their skills in singing, movement, listening and creativity will develop over this camp. On the last day we party with an amaxing BOUNCY CASTLE treat! Camp commences wk 11th July 4yrs - 7 yrs
Musical Theatre Summer Camp : This camp will combine Music, Song & Dance from your favourite songs. We will journey into the world of Musical Theatre and beyond. Students will learn some musical concepts loud /soft, slow/fast through movement and listening, discovering rhythm, pitch and expression. We will touch on Repertoire, Singing Technique and breathe control. They will discover self expressions and social interaction . On the last day we will celebrate and have some fun with a special BOUNCY CASTLE! Commences wk 18th July 7yrs -13 yrs
Dance Medley Summer Camp : This camp is a great introduction to music with lots of fun through songs down the ages, from Queen, Michael Jackson, Jeward!, to name but a few! Students will be introduced to music concepts and objectives through rhythm, melody, form and harmony. Their skills in singing , movement listening and rhythm will be encouraged.Commences wk 25th July 7yrs -13yrs.
Kinder & Junior Camp fees are €80 per week & run from 10.00 - 1.00
Children must bring a light healthy snack.
Classes sizes are limted so early booking is advised.
Throughout all our camps children are introduced to rhythm, pitch & solfege and notation.
