Welcome to the home of our Summer Camp 2010. At Ashford Academy of Music we take the children on a learning adventure in the worlds of music and movement. The children are exposed to music through songs, games and group activities, encouraging self expression and creativity.
Each week of summer camp is themed!
Peter & the Wolf: This theme includes acting out this well loved story of Grandfather and his animal friends, whilc recognizing music themes for each charater. We also learn about the orchestra and the instruments represented in the music. This hands on experience gives the children an insight into what instrument they might like to play in the future , from piano, flute, violin, oboe, french horn..THeir skills in singing , movement, listening and creating will develop over this camp! On the last day of camp we party and celebrate with an amazing BOUNCY CASTLE treat! Camp commences Wk 5th July 4 yrs - 6 yrs
Mozart "Ah Vous Diral - je Maman (Twinkle, Twinkle) This theme is great fun. All the boys & girls love dressing up. Here the children will learn about the instruments and different sounds of the orchestra, giving them a hands on experience of differents instruments, so they can choose what instrument they might like to play in the future from pianoo, keyboard, violin, flute, cello, oboe, saxaphone, drums. Their skills in singing, movement, listening and creating will develop over this camp. On the last day we party with an amaxing BOUNCY CASTLE treat! Camp commences wk 12th July 4yrs - 6 yrs
Vivaldi Four Seasons : Yes, weather permitting, they may get a little dirty and mucky! The children will learn some musical concepts loud /soft, slow/fast through movement and listening, discovering rhythm, beat and expression. They will have a gentle introduction to the orchestra and it's instruments, giving them an idea of what instrument they might like to play in the future, from violin, piano, drums flute. On the last day we will celebrate and have some fun with a special BOUNCY CASTLE! Commences wk 19th July 7yrs -10 yrs
Haydn's Surprise Symphony from Synphony No 94 : This camp is a great introduction to music. Here the children will be introduced to music concepts and objectives through rhythm, melody, form and harmony. Their skills in singing , movement listening and instrument playing will be encouraged. The introduction to the instruments of the orchestra will help them choose what instrument they might like to play in the future. Commences wk 26th July 7yrs -10yrs.
Kinder & Junior Camp fees are €90 per week & run from 10.00 - 1.00
Children must bring a light snack.
Classes sizes are limted so early booking is advised.
Throughout all our camps children are introduced to rhythm, pitch & solfege.
